And now incoming and continuing students of Chuka University have something to smile about. A building rumoured to be worth more than 1.6 billion Kenyan shillings is being constructed next to the university along the Embu - Meru highway. 

The hotel that goes by the name- Lowlands hotel will be something the environs have never seen within the area. Lowlands hotel is built on half an acre of land just strategically besides the main highway and a few yards from a vigorously growing university.

Lowlands hotel will consist of a 24 hour club lounge, classy and affordable lodges, a recreational swimming pool, a restaurant etc etc.
