45 Chuka University Students Expelled From The Institution
Last week, ex CUSA chair aspirant Ken Waringa together with other 17 Chuka University students alleged to have been behind the Feb protests had their cases dropped by the court after the jury cited lack of evidence. Unfortunately, their happiness has been cut short as the Chuka University administration has expelled them from the institution.
Word now has it that about 45 Chuka University students have been kicked out of the school for allegedly been part of the riots that led to the closure of the institution on February. According to a PDF that we downloaded from Chuka's official website, a list of forty five admission numbers was displayed whereby the owners of those admission numbers had been asked to pick letters referred to them at their respective postal addresses.
This is the list of students that was placed on the Chuka.ac.ke website;
We spent the evening calling some of those who had been listed on the website, and we managed to talk to approximately 23 of them. Apparently, the letters they had received from the school was referenced with "EXPULSION". The victims claimed that they had probably been expelled for being part of the "Feb riots" investigation.
Among the expelled students, were independent individuals and orphans who have been struggling with paying school fees for the years they have studied in the university. Their lives have hit rock bottom now that they can't join any university within East Africa.
