Will Chuka University Be Shut Down By Matiang'i? Find Out Here.
A list that went viral on the internet early this week showing a number of institutions including Chuka Universities claimed that it was the ultimate blacklisted list of universities to be shut down by Education Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matian'i for offering low quality degree certificates.
A quick search on the internet of the key phrase "blacklisted universities in Kenya by Matiang'i" brings up numerous results and sites that first posted the crucial information.
According to top Entertainment website: Trending Post Kenya, the current Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of Education - Dr. Fred Matiang'i recently claimed that he will shut down universities that were offering fake courses and awarding undeserving degree certificates.
Speaking on an Interview with Citizen TV, Matiang'i highlighted that several universities may be shut down in the New Year for offering substandard education.
He added that an audit of the universities had so far shown that some were admitting unqualified students for degree courses hinting that some degree certificates may also be revoked in future as their holders did not meet the requirements to pursue the said courses.
A list of the "affected" universities including Chuka University then started circulated all over social media and students were petrified. Watch the video below to see the list;
The blog that first broke the story - Trending Post however, claims that the list was not verifiable and that it could be a joke or prank by someone with ill motives.
So, guys... lets chill out and expect that Matiang'i will not shut down our university because that would mean we have been here wasting our time. Let's also hope that our university does not offer substandard education.
