Classes To Resume For Chuka University Students Despite On-going Lecturers' Strike

Despite the unending countrywide lecturers' strike, the Chuka University management have come to a conclusion that they are not going to take any steps in suspending the semester.

They have urged the students to begin attending their lectures as indicated in their timetables.

Reports now have it that about a quarter of the varsity's student population are already at home.

They must have been asked by their parents to vacate the school premises to avoid wasting more of their pocket money.

According to a Facebook post by the CUSA Secretary General - Lutta Wilberforce, The Vice Chancellor - Professor Erastus N. Njoka together with the management held a meeting with the lecturers and came to consensus that all lecturers should resume tomorrow 8/02/2017 at 7.00 am.

He also claims that Class Representatives should note down the names of lecturers who miss their classes and forward the list to the Director of Academics through the respective faculty reps.

The Management has also stated that any lecturer who fails to attend his or her class will be replaced by next Monday.

Lutta advises that should comrades fail to attend their respective lectures, three things are bound to happen;

1. We will pay a double rent as was witnessed in last year
2. The May industrial attachment will be affected
3. There will be no graduation this year
