Chuka University Student Portal Is Working But Still Missing Something Important
Good news fellas, the Chuka University Student web portal can now be accessed via any network not only the institution's wifi. Sometime last year a malicious student allegedly hacked the Chuka University network and messed up with a few "admin-only" files which led to the school limiting the network access.
As of the moment, the school Wi-Fi can only be accessed by registered students meaning that you can only use the school Wi-Ffi by submitting your ID number, reg.no and name. This is so as to track the activity of the internet user and prevent cyber crime. If you don't want this, just get your own Wi-Fi from local service providers from either Embu or Meru.
Now back to the Chuka University Student Portal, this is where you can check your results, see your fee balance, book a room in the school hostel or register your semester units. According to the school administration, the Chuka University official website together with the Student portal is still in the development stage (Beta) thus the numerous bug fixes required.
To be able to access your student portal, you need to visit your respective department to get registered where only your national ID number together with admission number. Your ID number will work as you portal account's password while your reg.no will work as the username.
After logging in, you will be prompted to change your password or otherwise anyone can log into your account. This is where you should really be keen, your new password should be unique and unforgettable to you. Lots of students who already forgot their passwords have been contacting us asking how one can reset a forgotten password.
Apparently, the portal lacks a reset password, or forgot password button but the school administration has assured students that they are working to improve the user experience of the website.
