REVEALED: Monthly Salaries Of All CUSA Officials Will Shock You! See Them Here
I am pretty sure most Chuka University students have been asking themselves one similar question.
Which is how much do these CUSA officials get paid every month? Why are they spending thousands of cash on campaigning?
Luckily, Chuka Uni Gossip is here to give you the answers you need!
We have found out how much these Chuka University Students' Association officials are paid every month for their work.
Check out their monthly salaries;
1. Chairman or CUSA President
The chairman of CUSA is obviously the most paid individual in the association and rumours have always claimed that they get a monthly salary of Ksh.17,000 per month. That's a true LIE. CUSA chairpersons get paid between Ksh.5,500 to Ksh.7,500. They are also given a monthly allowance of Ksh.10,000 to calm students for example: If Natalie Silantoi posts something very bad about the Chuka University Admin, they inbox Natalie Silantoi and tell her to delete that post or face the wrath of Njoka.
2. Vice Chairperson
One of the most useless posts on the planet. We hear that they don't even get paid since the seat is not an elective post. But rumours have it that Vice Chairpersons get a monthly salary of Ksh.3,500.
3. Secretary General
Another useless seat. Its just like you are supposed to be the CUSA chairman but you are actually not. It's confusing and the VC - Prof. Njoka doesn't even care who gets the seat as long as he has his mole as the CUSA chair. However, the Secretary General gets a monthly salary of between Ksh.4000 - Ksh. 5,500 and a Ksh.10,000 monthly allowance to control the students.
4 and 5. Treasurer and Organizing Secretary
Treasurers should be the guy to handle CUSA money but unfortunately that money is controlled by the institution's finance department. For CUSA to get the money, the treasurer must first state (in writing) what they need the cash for. After that the proposal has to go through other unknown persons before first reching the dean then the VC. This shit is boring! The Organizing Sec is supposed to be in charge of entertainment. But it depends on the Vice Chancellor if he is interested in an event or not. So this seat is also useless ever since Lilian left it. Both the Treasurer and the Organizing Secretary gets a monthly salary of Ksh.3,500...tuendelee!

6, 7 and 8. Director of Academics, Director in charge of Students' Welfare and the Director of Games and Sports
All these directors in as much as they have mouthful names get paid very little - a monthly salary of around Ksh.2,500 to Ksh.3,000 -. Funny enough they have all devised ways of getting weekly 'marupurupus'. For example Bosire Magufuli, the outgoing Director of Sports had a way to slash the amount of money meant for sports students.. yaani alikuwa ananyonya kidogo.
9, 10, 11 and 12. Male Non-resident rep, Female non-resident rep, Male and female resident representatives
Why do people even vie for these seats? Jesus Christ!! Monthly salary for all these representatives should be around Ksh.1,500 to Ksh.1,800 ... kindly let's not dwell on them.
13 and 14. Gender/Special Needs and Faculty Representatives
Monthly salary is Ksh.1,200. Now you know why Gertrude Njeri had to leave that post last time and aim for the Organizing Secretary docket.
Now here's where the real money comes in, and this is the reason why these aspirants are spending over 50,000 in cash for the campaigns.
The top tier CUSA positions - Chairman, Secretary General, Treasurer and Organizing Secretary are the only officials who enjoy these benefits;
1. Out of country trips where they are given daily allowance of about Ksh.20,000 - This happens during the holidays and should be kept a secret.
2. Meetings with VC Njoka are not done locally. They do so at big hotels like Villa Rossa Kempinski (Where former United States' president slept) and get daily allowances of upto Ksh.5,000 per day.
3. During events they make sure that they walk away with over Ksh.100,000 each in their pockets
4. They also allocate budgets to useless stuff and fail to buy them. For example the sound system costing around Ksh.450,000 that was to be bought by the outgoing CUSA team was never bought and the money was shared equally among three top tier CUSA officials.
There are many ways to eat from the CUSA office, it depends on how you do it. Remember, CUSA money totals around Ksh.15 million per year but do you know which stomach they end up in? Comment below.
