During a press conference that was held in Chuka on Wednesday, 10th of February, the Njuri Ncheke leader, Mr. Jonathan Kang'ethe urged the police department to scrutinize the real cause of the furor together with the institution's administration. Jonathan Kang'ethe noted that students who found accountable for starting the strike were doomed to be arraigned in court. Here are Jonathan Kang'ethe's words in written context;

The university students are the leaders of tomorrow, but their behaviour gives the country no hope of good leadership in future. Let the management together with our police unit weed out those who were involved in the riot in order to cultivate peace among the other students.

Tharaka-Nithi County Police Commander Johnston Ipara, who had led the anti-riot police unit while dispersing the rioting Chuka University students on Monday was praised by the Mutegi Kiungo the Meru South branch secretary. The reason was for the unit's fast and quick response that stopped further damages by the restless students. Mutegi Kiungo advised the students to use dialogue instead of riots while addressing issues or grievances. He added that nothing good comes from violence.
