Chuka University Student- Dan Bundi Killed In Popular Club Kimwa
On Friday night the 10th of June 2016, the Chuka University fraternity lost one comrade who goes by the name Danson (Dan) Bundi [pictured below] at a popular club- Kimwa located in Chuka Township. This comes a few days after the institution also lost a girl student by the name Rose lost who was buried a week ago.
According to a local news outlet, police officers in Meru County have already launched investigations following the murder of Danson Bundi, an Animal Science first year student, who is alleged to have been killed by a mob in Chuka Town.
Meru South OCPD James Kilonzo said the Chuka University student was attacked by a mob who mistook Danson Bundi for a thief.
A source who sought anonymity revealed to us that Danson Bundi, aged 19, was having a drink with his friend at Kimwa club before a fight erupted leading to his death. The source claimed that Danson Bundi and a friend of his got into a fight outside the club after arguing over borrowed money. The two quarreling students might have been misheard by a taxi driver who accidentally raised an alarm after dropping his car keys. Dan Bundi and his colleague tried to escape but the deceased had no luck.
A mob descended on the now deceased Chuka University without mercy, took valuables from him and then left him for dead. According to photos that were widely shared on Facebook and Whatsapp, Danson Bundi's body was seriously injured beyond repair.
The body was rushed to the hospital and was later moved to the Chuka District Hospital mortuary for postmortem. As per our knowledge, the postmortem results have not been released to the public yet.
