Tausi Photoshoot Event Flops As Few Chuka University Students Turn Up
When it comes to photography, moments of a lifetime are what should be on people's thoughts. Unfortunately, for the Tausi Photoshoot event that took place last Saturday 25th June 2016 there were no moments captured at all.
The photography event that was much hyped a week before ended up as a flop as only friends of the photographer showed up at the scene of the shoot. So how much did they make? No one cares.
Apparently, the shoot was organized by Maureen, the chick that caused a scene sometime back in Kimwa club (you remember right?) after she was caught getting cozy with someone's boyfriend. Victor Chacha, a wannabe male socialite, also graced the shoot with a 'gang' of his.
The shoot cost 250/= per head which wasn't a bad price considering the fact that you had to carry your own make-up and clothes.
In the advert that was widely spread on Whatsapp groups looked like the shoot would have models in it but according to the photos we managed to scrutinize, we found only one model; Elema and another wannabe Gladys (a fresha). The others were joyriders who did not even look like they paid a cent for the event.
Here are a few reasons why the event flopped and I think the people who organized it should learn from this;
1. Poor advertising;
I guess the crew wanted to make a lot of money without spending a dime. Business doesn't work like that booboo kitty. To get more sales you need to reach out to as many people as you can and it's only possible through marketing.
What these guys did was pass poster round whatsapp chats and also posted it on Instagram. Big mistake. Once you post it on Instagram you, it means you have never been to a business class ever. Why? You are posting an advert that only befits Chuka University students to your followers of whom 80% don't even know if a university called Chuka exists, 10% of whom are working class in Nairobi, 5 percent highschool students, 4% parents (of non-Chuka students) and 1% Chuka University students who know better photography agencies.
On Whatsapp, 90% of students are not even active on groups and your message will just miss them like Messi's penalty. So don't sit back expecting 200 students to appear at the garage while all you did was circulate a Whatsapp text.
The advert poster, OMG whoever made that poster should come up with something simpler that should just pass the message right. How do you even acknowledge that you are the one that made the advert in a poster that was meant for someone else? That poster was ugly af
The name of the event, seriously what does Tausi stand for? It looks like the shoot had no role to play in the society. It wasn't even modelling.
Face of the advert, the face of adverts should be someone popular not a person we know nothing about. They should have used Shiey or someone who has the same popularity. Maureen is according to our source, a second year student (we already talked about her before)
2. Poor rates;
250/= per head really? It's Chuka University for God's sake. You can't just tell someone to pay that much only to be given photos that look like they were taken by my Samsung Galaxy pocket. There was no photoshop done at all.... 50 bob per classic photo would have been better in bringing in sales.
Above is one of the photos from the shoot.
