Chuka University To Open Satellite Campus In Nairobi City
An exclusive tip off reaching our desk has claimed that the Chuka University management is planning on opening a satellite campus within the Nairobi central business district. Last year in September, the school also opened another campus in Tharaka Nithi now located in Gatunga Secondary School ground.
According to the tip off, the Chuka University administration has already procured a multi-million worth of shillings building within Nairobi CBD. The city campus is meant to reduce the cost of learning as students from Nairobi county and its outskirts will be able to commute to the campus.
The source revealed to Chukaunigossip team that the 6-storey building in Nairobi had been procured by the Chuka University management for over half a billion shillings (sh.600 million to be exact) and you wonder why students were asked to pay a damage fee of sh.1900.
The school is at that stage of struggling to make an impact in Kenya's education sector and this has seen a sh.1 billion males' hostel put up quite faster than we had anticipated.
Other developments also include construction of a water source that cost over sh.100m, students' centre which will soon be launched and lastly launching of distant learning (e-learning) in Chuka University.
In August 2015, the County Commissioner Charles Monari said the campus will help develop the region.

We expect more services like banks and hostels in the area because a university is a big institution which accommodates many people - said Mr Monari.
