Chuka University Student Centre Converted Into The Administration Block!
Yes, yes, yes I know it has a swirly swimming pool but that doesn't make it a recreation spot anyhows. So guys, I hate to state this to you but, word reaching our desk has it that the formerly projected Students' Centre is now the Chuka University administration block!
I guess first and second year students have no IDEA that the construction of this building began over three-to-four years ago. It was completed one and a half years ago but it has never been opened for business. Why?
Apparently, every three months we have been receiving lame Students' Centre alerts such as 'The Building Will Be Opened Next Week By President Uhuru Kenyatta Himself'. I think some people should understand that the President has a country to run rather than waste fuel to launch a students' centre.
Other conspiracies that surrounded the fact that the building had not been launched yet was, according to the Vice Chancellor, the contractor had not handed him the papers yet. Rumor also had it that the school had not found investors who were willing to bring business to the centre.
On February Chuka University went on strike for the first time in history over Students' Union elections where they ended up setting a bus on fire and bringing down a few windows. The Students' centre also encountered a few attacks but barely got affected by the flying stones.
Due to this, the Vice Chancellor of the Tharaka Nithi based university decided to relocate his office to the Students' Centre and even made sure to put up a metal barricade or what I'd like to call a barrier (INSIDE the building) to protect him from any future attacks.
As we are writing this article, Chuka Uni Gossip team already has news that every department has been shifted to the students' center and has been successfully converted to an Administration block.
I'm pretty sure most of you won't like this move by the university's management since we have all been waiting for our own center - mall, gaming stations, restaurant, bakery, clothing shop and etc etc - then the building just becomes a bucket of offices we don't even gain from.

I was going to pay my school fees on Monday but I don't think it's the right thing to do.... The university is 44 million bob in debt yet a billion worth hostel is being put faster than I can reply to my sponsor's "Uko na dooh ama nikutumie" kinda text.
