Read This If You Attended The Pool Party At Marine Park Resort On Friday
On Friday 20th January 2016 - Students of Chuka University attended the much hyped "Pool Party" that went down on the recently launched Marine Park resort located on your way to Shepherds Hostel.
According to reliable sources, about 500 students turned up to the event compared to the 3,500 students that went to the Elani Band show last semester at Tredds garden.
The low turn up was blamed on the high ticket fee of 200/= however, some of the students are said to have made it into the event location by jumping over the 3ft. fence.
On a scale of 1-10 I think we as Chuka Uni Gossip have rated the event at less than 5. First, the Event Deejay was whack - played very old & boring music. Second, the pool water was suspiciously salty looked like the some students' main aim was to urinate inside the pool. Thirdly, the entertainment part (sound system and lighting) was basically below average. Fourth, we have bad news about how the event came to be.
Apparently, the idea of such an event was from Chuka University comrades who had decided to present the idea to the managers of Marine Park resort.
These students are actually the owners of the now DEAD LimitedSpree blog that mushroomed mid last year and died after lie to the comrades about an event dubbed "Chuka Uni Awards".
And this time yet again, managers of Marine Park turned them away and stole the idea from them and came up with the shitty event that went down last Friday.
The original idea was that they were to invite DJ Kalonje and some of his dancers for the night but the managers thought it was more cost friendly to use a student DJ and at the same time make more money.
Even though LimitedSpree were our competitors, I think what was done to them was not good and should not be condoned. So shame on Marine Park managers for doing this to our fellow comrades.
But who am I to judge, most people enjoyed the party.
